18th Birthday Decorations

Think of the changes that come with one’s 18th birthday and decorate your party room with these elements in mind.
You have lots of choices on what to decorate your walls and posters of movies that have something to with turning 18, vote posters (with or without the celebrant’s photo), and pictures of fancy cars are just the tip of the iceberg.
Pictures or posters of ivy league colleges, may it be a campus picture or some cool students wearing their (sports/cheerleading) uniforms will be great additions. If the celebrant is very much into military, then those should be part of your decorations.
You can also decorate your ceiling with cut outs that represents turning 18 in all possible way. This can include the many ways of writing 18 – in words, the number, Roman Numeral, and of course in different languages. Use different colors, shapes and sizes to provide variety and color to your party room.
For your centerpiece, you can arrange some fruits, snacks, candies or chocolates to look like the number 18. Another edible centerpiece idea is to decorate some cupcakes with the number 1 while other cupcakes with the number 8. If you want fruits instead of pastries, we absolutely love caramelized apples and we think using caramelized apples instead of cupcakes will be quite amazing.
Another centerpiece idea is to use a beer bottle as a flower vase. Another option is to use a margarita glass that contains a candle floating in a colorful liquid. Decorating the glass rim with salt will make it just perfect.
And of course, what’s a party without balloons? We’ll leave it to you whether to get special eighteen-shaped ones or just go for ordinary ones with special 18 prints. Either will be great additions to what you have prepared so far.

21st Birthday Decorations

Being able to drink legally is one of the (good) things which comes with turning 21 so we think that decorating your party room to look like a pub or bar is a cool idea. Or better yet, have the party in actual bar so as to solve your decoration problems.
In line with the bar idea, adding beer and wine bottles in the picture, different glasses and pints, barrels, and the like are very welcome. We suggest going to your favorite pub and getting some decoration tips to make your party decoration more authentic.
Having a party in your dorm or turning a party room to look like a typical college dorm is another good approach to 21st birthdays. So this means posters of different university activities like sports events and service advertisements are necessary additions. You can even add some vandals here and there if you think that will add authenticity to your decoration.

And of course, what’s a party without balloons? We think getting balloons in either special 21-shaped ones or in the celebrant's favorite color will be the way to go.
You're nearly there, but before you say done, though not exactly something that you put out there as decoration, playing the right music will add a lot to the atmosphere you're setting so be sure to pick some cool music with the birthday girl or boy.

40th Birthday Decorations

Black, white and gray are the default choice for your 40th birthday party decoration hues, but if you want to go for lively colors that happens to be the birthday celebrant’s favorite shade, that should also be fine.
Classic movie posters should decorate your walls. Pictures of concerts of popular bands wearing their dated outfits and big hair will be cool. Be sure to consult the (wo)man of the hour for his/her favorites.

For your centerpiece, you can arrange some fruits, snacks, candies or chocolates to look like the number 40. Another edible centerpiece idea is to decorate some cupcakes with the number 4 while other cupcakes with the number 0. If you want fruits instead of pastries, we absolutely love caramelized apples and we think using caramelized apples instead of cupcakes will be quite amazing.
Similar to one of the invitation ideas, you can also use a photo collage of the birthday boy or girl as your table decoration. Pick some photos that represent important milestones of his/her life and those will be great material for your centerpiece collage.
Candles showcased in old-fashion candle holders will add to the feel you’re aiming for, and is definitely worth considering. And if you, like us, love flowers in your table, then find some old-looking (we don’t mean shabby) bottles and plant some daisies in them and voila, you have a pretty and old-fashion table decoration right there.
Though not exactly something you place out as decoration, the right music will add to the ambiance you’re setting. Pick some favorites with the birthday celebrant so you can play them during the party.
And of course, what’s a party without balloons? We’ll leave it to you whether to get special forty-shaped ones or just go for ordinary ones with special 40 prints. Either will be great additions to what you have prepared so far.

60th Birthday Decorations

You can go for the classic look and have everything in black, white and gray. However, decorating with the celebrant’s favorite shades will also be a nice touch.
To make your decoration fitting to your chosen theme, you must showcase some precious moments about the (wo)man of the hour. You can start with photographs showing his/her life’s milestones (eg. Photos when s/he was born, singing/dancing, graduated, got married, etc). Follow this up with photos and actual items which influenced him/her – this can include pictures of friends and mentors, favorite hobbies and activities (display dozens books if s/he loves reading, his/her favorite swim wear if s/he’s a beach person). Some mementos that s/he considers important can also be brought out. And lastly, pictures of places that influenced him/her will also be great additions.
Adding pictures or items from the past will do a lot to your setup. Movie posters of classic movies, concert pictures of old bands, fashion of the past (big hair, bellbottoms), items like jukebox, phones, and old records and the like.
For your centerpiece, you can go for one with more personal touch and display a cool photo of the celebrant. Another option is to pick some of his/her favorite flowers and stick them in a signature vase. Be sure to encourage your guests to sign the vase and make more mementos that will be treasured by the celebrant.
Another approach on your centerpiece is to use some “antiques” or old items as table decoration. Candles in candelabras, lamps, miniature old cars are just some examples.
Any party will not be complete without some balloons and for this party, anything in black, white, gray or in the celebrant’s favorite shade will be perfect!
Now you’re almost ready to greet your guests. But before you say “Done”, be sure to compile some classic music (ask the celebrant for favorites) that you can play during the party.

Asian Birthday Decorations

The good thing about this party theme is that there are lots of elements that you can use in your party decorations.
Red and orange are the best color candidates on any Asian party. Your room decoration should include chopsticks, take-out boxes, dragons, Chinese lanterns, origami folded in all shapes and sizes, and red Chinese envelopes, just to name a few.
You also have lots of options for your centerpiece. You can either go for a bunch of flowers in a Chinese vase, or just place some take-out boxes full of fortune cookies instead. Some of those lucky bamboo plants will also work as your Asian table decoration, and so will red candles and Asian spoons with candies lined up in a porcelain plate.
A party won’t be complete without balloons and for your Asian party, you can either get dragon balloons or just choose typical ones in red and white. Those should work nicely with the other things you have prepared so far.

Beach Birthday Decorations

The cool thing about this theme and having it along the beach is that you have instant decoration and ambiance right there!
Having your guests in the right attire will also accentuate the beach feel you’re aiming for, so get them to wear their sunglasses, sombreros, shorts, swim suit, and the like.
An aquarium bowl with water, sand and assorted shells will make you a pretty centerpiece. If that doesn’t please you, a glass full of shells might just do the trick. Or better yet, just fill a classy vase full of colorful flowers and you’re all set.
Complete the beach ambiance by getting some special-shaped balloons. Anything that comes in palm tree shape, beach ball, or flamingo is just perfect!

Cowboy Birthday Decorations

The cool thing about having a cowboy birthday party is that there are lots of elements that you can play around with, which should make your party decorations a breeze.
Although brown should be the dominant color in your party room, having some white and black in the picture will also be fitting. Add some cut-outs shaped like cowboy hats, rocking horse, and boots for your room hangings. Some cactus, guitar and horseshoe cut-outs will be worthwhile additions. If you can go beyond cut-outs and get the real deal, that will be way cooler.
Adding some cute wanted posters (something related to your birthday boy) will be pretty neat. If you have them, make sure you add posters of Western flicks in the picture as well.
We don’t know about you, but we think that adding a swinging door, something that one usually see in a saloon will be perfect, so if you have the right place for it at your party room, we suggest you go for it.
As for your centerpiece, you will also have lots of options. We think that those plastic horse toys lined up in the middle of your table will be fitting and easy to prepare. So is a cowboy hat full of wildflowers. If you can get some, cactus plants is also a table decoration alternative. But if you think you are up to it, we attended a 1st birthday party wherein a used wine bottle and a western teddy bear attached to it was their centerpiece, and we absolutely loved it. Adding a bunch of your favorite flowers in said wine bottle will makes things absolutely perfect!
To wrap up your party’s decoration, we saw some great-looking white balloons with black cow prints on them and we think they’re perfect for cowboy parties. But if you would rather go for the ordinary variety, we think that an assortment of brown and white balloons will work as well.
